Patrick Clay Buzbee, a skilled physician's assistant in musculoskeletal diagnosis, joined Spine Team Texas in 2004. His wide range of expertise includes diagnosis and development of treatment plans. He also serves as first surgical assistant in cervical and lumbar surgeries; providing aid and other technical functions to both surgeon and patient during an operation. If surgery is needed, Buzbee offers the best pre- and post-operative care, developing special treatments to help patients recover as quickly as possible.
Buzbee completed his physician assistant studies from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas and earned his undergraduate degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M University. Before joining Spine Team Texas, Patrick served for three years at the Orthopedic Institute of Texas.
Dedicated to his profession, Buzbee has been a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Texas Academy of Physician Assistants for more than ten years. He is currently a member of the Association of Neurosurgical Physician Assistants, an organization devoted to the continuing education of neurological surgery and neurology.
Buzbee has been named a certified physician assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and earned his Texas Physician Assistant license. He also received training and certification for Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS). The NCCPA honored Buzbee's expertise with a special recognition in surgery in 2000.
