Dr. Daniel Sanders joins Spine Team Texas with extensive training and experience in the field of anesthesiology and interventional pain medicine.
A native Texan, Dr. Sanders began his training at Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas School of Medicine at San Antonio where he was awarded the MSP Designated Scholarship. He then completed his residency in anesthesiology from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia. While there, he served as the Education Chief Resident for the Department of Anesthesiology and was named the FAER Resident Scholar. He further specialized in interventional pain medicine during a fellowship at Carolinas Pain Institute/Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
Dr. Sanders was in the top 10 percent for the American Board of Anesthesiology exam. He has been published multiple times in Regional Anesthesia & Pain Medicine, the official publication for the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine. During his fellowship at Carolinas Pain Institute, he was involved in cutting edge research in the field of interventional pain medicine including the investigation of novel uses for spinal cord stimulation as well as the use of new peripheral nerve stimulation devices in the treatment of various painful conditions.
