Physical therapy helps you restore physical function and relieve pain related to spine conditions. At Spine Team Texas, our physical therapy treatment approach includes education, mechanical assessment, posture and movement retraining, spinal stabilization, and conditioning.
At Spine Team Texas, we prioritize convenience and quality care. Our on-site physical therapy gym features a team of spine-focused physical therapists. Our therapists are trained and certified in the McKenzie Method, also known as Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment (MDT) —an internationally recognized approach to assessing and treating spine conditions. Our therapists blend hands-on techniques with personalized exercises designed to strengthen the back and improve flexibility. These treatments aim to manage pain, enhance mobility, and prevent future injuries. We empower you to play an active role in your rehabilitation, ensuring you receive maximum benefits from our programs. As part of your therapy, you’ll be prescribed specific exercises and guidance for appropriate postures and behaviors to adopt or temporarily avoid outside the clinic. The therapist will monitor your progress, adjusting the plan based on changes in symptoms and range of motion.
Our therapists are trained in the McKenzie Method, also known as Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT). This approach uses three steps to address your pain and provide a path toward functional restoration.
Through detailed discussion and active participation during the specialized MDT examination, your therapist gathers a clear understanding of your condition. By using repeated movements or specific positions, a baseline is established to develop a personalized treatment plan.
You’ll receive tailored exercises along with advice on postures and behaviors to either adopt or temporarily avoid outside the clinic. The therapist will monitor your progress, adjusting the plan based on changes in symptoms and range of motion. Treatment may include manual therapy to improve joint mobility, enhance motion, and reduce pain and discomfort.
You will learn techniques for self-management to reduce the risk of recurrence and handle any future symptoms effectively. The ultimate goal is prevention and long-term management of your condition.
In addition to specializing in the McKenzie approach, our team offers more traditional physical therapy services such as neuromuscular reeducation, safe core stabilization exercises, ergonomic assessment, and proper body mechanics training. We also provide manual therapy, including mobilizations, manipulation, instrument-assisted soft tissue treatment, and modalities like electrical stimulation, traction, and cryotherapy. We want your recovery to be efficient and effective. Each program is driven by sound clinical reasoning for an individualized plan of care. The number of treatment visits is determined by your individual needs and our goal is make you independent in your rehabilitation as soon as possible. Our specialized spine physical therapists can help you develop a concentrated home exercise plan that works for your schedule.
