Meet Dr. Donnelly-Straach
Dr. Donnelly-Straach joined Spine Team Texas in Southlake in 2010. Equipped with the latest medical knowledge and advanced techniques, Dr. Donnelly-Straach’s physical medicine and rehabilitation proficiency includes nerve conduction/EMG studies, peripheral joint injections, management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain, non-surgical spine management through spine procedures and physical rehabilitation. Dr. Donnelly-Straach also developed a comprehensive wellness program for Spine Team Texas for surgical candidates, known as the Bridge Program. This is a team-based approach that incorporates physical therapy, exercise, nutritional counseling, and psychologic evaluation and counseling to assist our patients with weight loss and to promote their function.
Dr. Donnelly-Straach’s expertise is added to the staff of Spine Team Texas to further enhance the noninterventional spine treatment services. Her emphasis will primarily be to provide comprehensive diagnostic studies that determine the root of spine problems and can reveal underlying musculoskeletal problems that can sometimes be masked as spine disorders.
During her medical training, Dr. Donnelly-Straach has given numerous presentations on spine injuries and treatments, including acute and chronic low back pain, neuromuscular deformity after spinal cord injury, adult-onset cervical dystonia, and spasticity management. She also served as a contributing editor to Rehab in Review.
A natural leader, Dr. Donnelly-Straach was named the PM&R chief resident at Emory University, director of the monthly EMG Conference, and peer-selected ACGME resident representative committee member. She is an active member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R) and American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM).
