Meet Dr. Lam
Dr. Sean A. Lam, DO, is a dedicated medical professional with a profound commitment to musculoskeletal and spine care. Born and raised in the vibrant DFW Metroplex, specifically Arlington, Texas, Dr. Lam has made it his life’s mission to provide top-level musculoskeletal and spine care to the community that raised him. His approach is patient-centered, reflecting his passion for offering the best possible medical care to those in need. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Lam finds immense fulfillment in mentoring students and trainees who share his interest in the medical field.
Dr. Lam’s educational journey has been marked by excellence and a strong foundation in medicine. He completed his Residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) from July 2019 to June 2023. His commitment to patient care and rehabilitation was honed during this time.
Before that, he earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine at The University of North Texas Health Science Center, graduating between July 2015 and May 2019. His academic journey began at The University of Texas at Arlington, where he achieved a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology with a minor in Biology and Chemistry, graduating Summa Cum Laude from August 2010 to May 2014.
Dr. Lam’s commitment to his community and the field of medicine extends to his numerous volunteer and leadership experiences. He has been an active participant in the Medical Student Mentoring Program at UAMS and provided sports medical coverage at the annual Little Rock, AR Marathon. He has also volunteered at organizations like the DEAF Action Center, ACOFP OMM Musculoskeletal Clinic, and Tarrant County Immunizations Collaboration, showcasing his dedication to healthcare and community well-being.
In terms of leadership, Dr. Lam served as the UAMS PM&R Residency Chief Resident Physician, illustrating his ability to take on responsibilities and lead in a medical setting. He also acted as the AAPM&R Physiatrist in Training (PHiT) Liaison/Ambassador, further highlighting his commitment to advancing the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Outside of his medical career and volunteer work, Dr. Lam is a Texan through and through. He enjoys partaking in activities native to Texas and spending quality time with his local family. His personal hobbies include sports like basketball, racquetball (including tennis, pickleball, and ping pong), and water sports. He’s also a music enthusiast, enjoying playing music, and relishes the companionship of his Shiba Inu.
