Spine Team Texas Co-founder Named HealthCare Hero

Fort Worth Business publication’s annual honor awarded to Dr. David Rothbart

In a field that presents a variety of constant challenges, the healthcare industry is replete with unsung heroes—those who save lives and change lives through their dedication to their areas of expertise. Neurosurgeon Dr. David Rothbart, founder and medical director of Spine Team Texas as well as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southlake, was recently nominated and selected as a 2016 HealthCare Hero by Fort Worth Business. Fort Worth Business will host an awards banquet on February 3rd, 2016, to recognize chosen recipients.

Each year, Fort Worth Business begins an extensive nomination and selection process to recognize excellence within the medical community—excellence demonstrated by physicians, administrators, and volunteers. HealthCare Heroes are selected and judged based on nominations from those in the profession and the business community. After reviewing the nominations of many candidates, Fort Worth Business selected David Rothbart, M.D., as a 2016 HealthCare Hero.

“As the co-founder of Spine Team Texas, Dr. Rothbart continues to demonstrate leadership expertise within our organization and to the medical community as a whole,” said Mark Hood, C.E.O. of Spine Team Texas. “This award further supports his dedication to his chosen field as well as gives us great pride in his ongoing commitment to our patients and the medical community.”

This is Dr. Rothbart’s first time on the HealthCare Heroes’ list for the Fort Worth Business publication. He was awarded the Healthcare Hero-Physician Award by Dallas Business Journal as nominated by patients in 2007. He’s a two-time recipient of the Becker’s Spine Review annual Spine Surgeon Leadership Award (2013, 2015), and was previously designated a U.S. News & World Report “Top Doctor” in neurosurgery and Castle-Connolly Top Doc in neurosurgery in 2015.
