Platelet-Rich Plasma injections, also called PRP, involves injecting a concentration of a patients own platelets to accelerate the healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints. First, blood is drawn and centrifuged to separate the platelets, then the platelet rich plasma is injected into the affected area.

PRP is used to treat:

  • osteoarthritis
  • tendon injuries
  • acute sports injuries
  • post-surgical repair
