Dr. Arpan Desai is a highly skilled physician dedicated to exceptional patient care. As a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology with a subspecialty certification in Pain Medicine, he has developed expertise in his field and is passionate about creating a patient-centered approach.
Arpan Desai pursued his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Fort Worth, Texas, from 1996 to 2000, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at the University of Texas at Austin. His postgraduate training at Northwestern University in Chicago included a Pain Management Fellowship (2004-2005) and an Anesthesiology Residency (2001-2004).
His professional journey includes roles such as Attending Physician at Arpan Desai, D.O., PLLC, and Principal Pain and Spine Consultants in Denton, Texas, since 2015. Dr. Desai served as Chief of Anesthesia Services at University Hospitals Medical Practices in Cleveland, Ohio, from 2009 to 2015, while concurrently holding the position of Medical Director at University Hospitals Conneaut Medical Center. He also worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University and as a Partner/Attending Physician at Pain Management Consultants in Austin, Texas, from 2005 to 2009.
Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and holding a Subspecialty Certification in Pain Medicine, Dr. Desai is dedicated to patient safety, as evidenced by his Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification. He is an active member of multiple medical organizations, including the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Texas Medical Association, Denton County Medical Association, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the International Spine Intervention Society.
Arpan Desai’s contributions and commitment have been recognized through various appointments and awards, including his role as Vice President of the Medical Staff and Chairman of the Surgical Governance Committee at University Hospitals Conneaut Medical Center (2013-2015), and as a member of the Board of Directors (2012-2015). He was a Top Performer on Joint Commission Key Quality Measures in Surgical Care in 2010 and also received a scholarship to the American Pain Society’s “Essentials of Pain Management: Principles and Practice” course in May 2004.
