Neil N. Patel, MD, FAAOS

Dr. Neil N. Patel joined Spine Team Texas as a board certified orthopedic surgeon, specializing in minimally invasive spine surgery techniques. With outstanding credentials, training at prestigious medical institutions and extensive leadership and research experience, Dr. Patel is an asset to Spine Team Texas.

During his residency, Dr. Patel trained with premier orthopedic spine surgeons and neurosurgeons to gain a comprehensive understanding of operative and non-operative management techniques. He also served as a clinical instructor for USC’s Department of Orthopedic Surgery.

Dr. Patel stays at the forefront of his field and informed of medical and procedural advances through active involvement in organizations like the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, North American Spine Society, and AO Spine International. In addition, he has shared his surgical expertise via local, regional, national and international presentations at annual meetings, which include Global Spine Congress, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the North American Spine Society.

Dr. Patel also serves as a reviewer for The Global Spine Journal and has contributed to articles in leading publications such as Neurosurgery Focus, Journal of Arthroplasty and The Spine Journal. Dr. Patel is the recipient of many honors and distinctions, including the Herbert E. Pedersen M.D. Orthopedic Research Award and the Resident Outstanding Achievement Award.

Dr. Patel has published numerous research papers and articles featured in medical publications. He is also a contributing author to the number one textbook on the anatomy of the spine, spinal diseases and disorders currently utilized in teaching at the majority of medical schools nationwide.
